Synopsis: After a botched bank robbery lands his younger brother in prison, Constantine “Connie” Nikas (Robert Pattinson) embarks on a twisted odyssey through the city’s underworld in an increasingly desperate—and dangerous—attempt to get his brother Nick (Benny Safdie) out of jail. Over the course of one adrenalized night, Connie finds himself on a mad descent into violence and mayhem as he races against the clock to save his brother and himself, knowing their lives hang in the balance.

Don’t be fooled by the title, since none of the characters in GOOD TIME really had any. It’s an intense, ticking-clock heist/getaway-gone-wrong thriller, with good performances and great soundtrack that go with it. They enhanced the sense of urgency that Safdie brothers were going for, but then, it got somewhat frustrating to watch at times that made me kind of lost attention.

Trying so hard to put his TWILIGHT days behind him, Robert Pattinson has constantly proved that he’s more talented than what public cares for. And I think, he gave his career-best performance here. Behaving like he’s on acid, with a devil-may-care attitude, Pattinson’s Connie acts like a timebomb, by showing his love for his brother with all the wrong ways.

Its gritty and urban atmosphere made GOOD TIME an interesting and intriguing watch in many instances, but seeing all the characters making bad decisions over and over again, got a little irritating eventually. I feel that some of the directions the characters went for were a bit pointless, which left me with no characters to root for. Which I’m wondering probably that was the point? Who knows. I did have a pretty good time watching it, but unfortunately not the best. [B/B-]
